Poland: Country Guide
After edging back from the brink of destruction – both politically and literally - in the early twentieth century, Poland fought to gain its independence from the Soviet Union in 1989.  Since then, its citizens have steadfastly and proudly restored their country to its former glory.

History buffs will stand in awe and fascination of its unbelievable number of significant, historical landmarks.  Warsaw, the country’s capital, was nearly obliterated in the Second World War and has since been essentially rebuilt from the ground up.  Krakow on the other hand is a dream for any fan of architecture –having survived the war almost unscathed.

Further afield, there are some truly joyful sites to behold in Poland.  Tourists can revel at the incredible opportunities for hiking, skiing, and cave exploring in the Tatras to the south.  And don’t miss the quaint, sleepy villages and traditional towns on the country’s outskirts – the places where Poland’s true culture and heritage exists today as it has for several hundred years.
